Privacy policy
Last updated: October 10, 2026
This policy explains what information WalledCare collects, why we collect it, who processes it for us, where it is stored, how long we keep it, and the choices and rights you have. It covers our website (walledcare.com), the WalledCare app (app.walledcare.com), and the WalledCare sensors and service.
Who we are
WalledCare is made by Moneli Automation (“we”, “us”). If you have a question about this policy or about your information, email info@walledcare.com.
What we collect
When you visit our website
- Technical information that your browser sends with every request, such as your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for.
- Demo requests. If you book a demo: your name and phone number, and, if you choose to add them, your email address and a note about who the service is for.
- Usage statistics. Our public website pages use Google Analytics, unless you opt out. See Cookies and analytics.
When you use WalledCare
- Account details: your name, email address and, if added, a phone number; your role on the account; and when you were invited and last signed in. If you set a password, we store only a salted hash of it. If you use Sign in with Google, Google shares your basic profile with us, and we keep your name and email address.
- Sensor readings. WalledCare’s radar sensors have no camera and no microphone. Each sensor regularly reports, for its room, whether someone is there, how much movement it detected, whether someone is present but still (for example sitting or lying down), how far from the sensor that was and how strong the radar signal was. It also tells us when its help button is pressed, and raises its own alerts, for example when someone in the room has not moved for a long time. It reports its own health too, such as its software version and whether the radar is working.
- What we work out from the readings: daily summaries for each room, such as the first and last activity of the day, minutes of activity and night-time visits, and a picture of what is usual for each room, so the service can notice when something is not.
- Alerts: records of the alerts and updates we send.
- What people on the account add: room names; the names they use for the people or pets in the home when they answer “who was that?”; check-ins such as a call, a visit or a planned absence; alert settings; and questions typed into the app.
- Location, only if someone chooses to share it. A person on an account can share their phone’s location from their own device, and chooses one of two options. With precise location, the phone sends its position and how accurate that position is, and we keep only the latest one. With home or away only, the phone works out whether it is at home and sends only that. Either way, we also receive the device’s name (for example its model), the phone’s battery level and the time of each update, and we keep a history of whether the phone was home or away (with precise location, also its distance from home). To tell home from away, a person who manages the account marks the home on a map and sets a radius around it. We store this home area and, while sharing is on, send it to the sharing person’s phone. We also keep a record of when sharing is turned on or off and when the home area is changed, and who did it. While sharing is on, the sharing phone can show the home’s recent activity, and we record when it does, at most once a day.
- Camera images, for business customers who use cameras. Some business customers use WalledCare with their own security cameras. For them, we receive still images and, if they turn it on, short video clips (which can include sound) from those cameras, or footage they upload, along with the results of analyzing it.
When we contact a business
- If we contact a business about WalledCare, we keep the contact details it publishes, such as its name, phone number and website, and notes of our conversations.
Why we use it
- To provide WalledCare: show activity in the app, send alerts and daily updates, produce reports, and let people on the account label activity.
- To run accounts: sign-in, invitations and password resets.
- To reply to you when you request a demo or write to us.
- To keep WalledCare working and secure: check that sensors are online, fix problems and prevent misuse.
- To improve WalledCare: we use sensor readings, together with the answers people give about who was in a room, to improve how WalledCare interprets sensor data, for example to tell a person from a pet. This can include training our own models.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Information about residents
When a care home or a family uses WalledCare, they decide where the sensors go and who on their account can see the information. We process that information to provide the service to them and for the other purposes described in this policy.
If you live where WalledCare is used, you can ask the care home, or the family member who manages the account, about the information collected about you. You can also contact us.
Where your information is stored
Our servers, database and stored files are in Canada, in Microsoft Azure’s Canada Central region, and our database backups stay in that region. The email we send, and email sent to info@walledcare.com, goes through Zoho’s Canadian data centre.
Google, browser push services and OpenStreetMap may process the information described above outside Canada. For Google, this includes the demo requests our team receives in Gmail.
How long we keep it
- The regular readings that sensors send are deleted automatically after 30 days by default. Check-ins and care-status records follow the same schedule.
- When someone stops sharing their location, their stored position is deleted. Their home or away history is deleted automatically after 30 days by default.
- Our server logs are set to be deleted after 3 days.
- Database backups are kept for 14 days.
- Demo requests are emailed to our team in Gmail rather than saved in the WalledCare app’s database.
- Other information may be kept for as long as the account exists. This includes account details, daily summaries, labels, help-button presses, the alerts sensors raise themselves, the alerts we send, and camera images and clips. People who manage an account can delete a room in the app, which deletes that room’s regular readings, daily summaries and learned patterns. To ask us to delete other information, email us.
Your rights and choices
Under Canada’s federal privacy law for businesses, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you can:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal or contractual limits. If you do, we may not be able to keep providing the service;
- complain to us, and to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
To make a request, email info@walledcare.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within 30 days.
In the app, you can stop sharing your location at any time, and you can reset your password from the sign-in page. People who manage an account can also turn alerts on or off, choose who receives them, remove people from the account and delete rooms. You can turn off browser notifications in your browser’s settings.
How we protect it
- Connections to our website and app use HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or newer), and browsers are told to always use HTTPS for our site.
- Our database cannot be reached from the public internet, and it is encrypted at rest.
- Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and sensor and app keys only as hashes.
- The app is built to keep each account’s information separate from every other account’s.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach of our security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will tell you and report it as Canadian law requires.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
